Careers Open Evening 2018 Review
We had our annual Careers Engineering Open Evening Thursday and despite less take up than normal, we had 100% turnout of those who said they would attend.
As always, our apprentices otherwise known as ‘shepherds’ were a credit, all dressed in smart business dress and corporate white shirts.
They each took a group of visitors on a tour around the factory showing them areas from skilled Machining, Quality and its role in the business, Calibration and Electronics, to Torque Wrench Assembly.
The evening finished with a great CAD demo from Matt and teams from Multipliers, Product Realisation, Electronics and HR ready to talk to prospective trainees, work experience students and apprentices about what we do and how they could be part of this. We couldn’t do this without Rob from the Engineering Trust our apprentice provider who provided advice and guidance on apprentice frame works and qualifications.
Despite a drop in numbers the feedback was fantastic with most wanting to join us rather than other employers.
A rewarding evening, thank you to all who attended we will certainly be doing it again next year.
